Prodrift Series to the Wire

/

Over the past three seasons, Mondello Park has witnessed 3 consecutive title deciders. In 2006, Darren McNamara famously defeated team mate Damien Mulvey in the Final to claim his Irish Title by the narrowest of margins. 12 months later, Eric O’Sullivan claimed one of many 2007 season victories to cement his Prodrift Irl Championship (with one event to spare) and in 2008, James Deane did enough to be crowned Irelands youngest Prodrift Champ; all at Mondello Park.

In less than 1 week, another name will enter the Prodrift Hall of Fame, but this time as the winner of the 2009 Prodrift Super Series.

/

23 year old Lee Newsome from Ashford has been selected Dunlop Young Racing Driver of the Month for July. The young Wicklowman’s performances during the month, which included a pair of third places in the Formula Sheane races at both Anglesey and Kirkistown, as well as a new class lap record at the Welsh circuit, have earned him the nomination.

Sponsored by Artic Air and Carraig Stonework, Lee is one of the regular front-runners in this very competitive class, and is currently serving his apprenticeship in the refrigeration/air conditioning business. He plans to race in either Formula Sheane or Formula Vee next year.
